North Devon MP Selaine Saxby has given a shout out to all the volunteers who are selflessly giving up their time for the benefit of others

In a message to One Northern Devon, the Conservative MP praised the community spirit that has helped communities protect its vulnerable.

Selaine who has represented North Devon since the 2019 election said on Wednesday:

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the volunteers across North Devon, and beyond, who have done incredible work to support our community. This crisis has really shown what a remarkable place to live North Devon is, and what a great sense of community there is here.

I very much hope the community spirit we have fostered through the necessity of the pandemic can be retained and we can continue to look out for our neighbours as we move beyond the coronavirus, and that we can hopefully build back even better. Thank you for everything you have done, are doing, and continue to do.”

The Member of Parliament for Torridge and West Devon, the Rt. Hon. Geoffrey Cox QC also added;

“In this time of crisis and hardship for many people, one of the shining beacons of light on an otherwise dark horizon has been the extraordinary willingness of the thousands of volunteers, ordinary people living in our communities, to step forward in support of others and continue working for the benefit of the vulnerable. My thanks, and those of all our communities, are inadequate appreciation for the services all of them have rendered.”
